In March of 2005 Mr. Steven Holdaway joined ZyCare as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Holdway holds degrees in engineering and finance, and has over 15 years of executive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

In January 2005, ZyCare concluded formal clinical trials of its CoagCare system with 100 patients at Duke University Medical Center, the University of New Mexico, and Miami International Consultants. Patient and physician feedback was extremely positive. The study was supported by an SBIR grant to ZyCare from the NHLBI as well as by the International Technidyne Corporation, which provided home monitoring devices and patient testing supplies for the trials.

In March of 2001 ZyCare, Inc was awarded nearly $1,000,000 through the Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) program of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to help fund the development and clinical trials of the CoagCare System. ZyCare had previously received an SBIR grant from the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases which helped fund the development of ZyCare's remote management system for patients with diabetes, which was acquired by Roche Diagnostics, Inc. in 1999.

United States Patent (No. 6,024,699) was issued February 15, 2000 for "Systems, Methods, and Computer Program Products for Monitoring, Diagnosing, and Treating Medical Conditions of Remotely Located Patients". This patent describes ZyCare's technology for use in the treatment of diabetes, anticoagulation, and other conditions and covers the basic CoagCare concept. This patent has been validated in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Ireland, the UK, and Australia.
