On February 15 2000, ZyCare, Inc. was awarded a United States Patent for the generic technology of using an expert system to remotely manage patients (Systems, Methods, and Computer Program Products for Monitoring, Diagnosing, and Treating Medical Conditions of Remotely Located Patients, U.S. patent No. 6,024,699). Roche Diagnostics obtained from ZyCare, Inc. an exclusive license for the technology covered by U.S. Patent No. 6, 024,699 for use in the field of diabetes care. ZyCare retains the rights to this patent for all other diseases.

On July 8, 2003, ZyCare was awarded a new patent specifically for anticoagulation therapy (Systems, Methods and Computer Program Products for Monitoring, Diagnosing and Treating Medical Conditions of Remotely Located Patients Undergoing Anticoagulation Therapy, U.S. Patent no. 6,589,169).

ZyCare's foreign patent applications, based on United States patent numbers 6,024,699 and 6,589,169 have been validated the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, and Australia.

On December 27, 2005, ZyCare was awarded a patent covering the details of a patient device that can communicate with the CoagCare web site in the management of anticoagulation therapy, (Apparatus and Methods for Monitroing and Modifying Anti-Coagulation Therapy of Remotely Located Patients, Patent No. 6,980,958).
